Call for Researchers for a Research on Population Health in Northwest States of Nigeria by Iconic University

The Directorate of Research and Development (DRD) at Iconic Open University, in collaboration with the Department of Public Health, is pleased to announce a compelling research opportunity for qualified researchers. We seek passionate individuals to join our team in a groundbreaking project focused on population health within Nigeria's Northwest states.

About the Project

The DRD at Iconic University is committed to fostering innovative and impactful research with a focus on addressing critical societal issues. Currently, our focus centers on population health, specifically understanding the health needs and challenges faced by residents in Nigeria's Northwest region. This research project aims to generate evidence-based solutions and improve health outcomes for these populations. As a researcher within the DRD, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

* Design and implement research studies addressing specific questions related to population health in the Northwest states of Nigeria.
* Utilize appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods to collect and analyze data.
* Author research reports and present findings to the DRD team.
* Actively participate in academic conferences and disseminate research findings through publications.

Qualifications

* Hold a minimum M.Sc. (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as public health, health sciences, epidemiology, biostatistics and informatics, demography and social statistics, or a closely related discipline.
* Possess demonstrable research experience with proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
* Exhibit strong analytical, writing, and communication skills.
* Have experience designing and conducting research studies, collecting and analyzing data, and authoring research reports.
* Familiarity with the health landscape and challenges of Nigeria's Northwest states is advantageous but not mandatory.

Project Timeline

The successful candidates are expected to commence the research project in Fall 2024, with a projected completion timeframe of 12-18 months.
