The Diploma in English Language at Iconic University provides students with essential skills and knowledge to improve their proficiency in English. This comprehensive programme spans over 5 months (1 semester), covering subjects such as grammar, diction, creative writing, and communication. Through interactive lectures, practical exercises, and assessments, students will gain a strong foundation in English language and enhance their overall language abilities.

1. Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the English language and its various components, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and usage.
2. Develop strong language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, with an emphasis on effective communication in both formal and informal settings.
3. Enhance critical thinking and analytical skills through the study of literature, linguistics, and language acquisition theories.
4. Familiarize students with a range of English language cultures and contexts, preparing them for global communication and interaction.
5. Equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge for further academic or professional pursuits in fields such as teaching, translation, or language services.

Among the 21st Century skills for the programme are:

For candidate to be admitted into this programme, he/she must have a minimum of three credit passes in any subjects of  SSCE/High School Certificate. Waivers could be given to older people with experience in teaching or educational activities. 

In addition, candidate should be able to communicate in English Language, at least at a beginner level, both in writing and orally.

Iconic University charges modest fees that give learners the chance to pay per semester only. Nigerian candidates seeking admission will pay an application fee of N5,000 and $10 would be paid by international applicants.
