Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)

The Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is a 2-semester programme offered by Iconic University to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective educators in today’s dynamic teaching environment. Through a combination of theoretical and practical coursework, the programme aims to prepare students for the challenges of teaching and provide them with the tools to excel in their profession.

The main objectives of the PGDE programme are to:
1. Develop a deep understanding of educational theories and their application in the classroom.
2. Equip students with effective teaching and learning strategies.
3. Foster critical thinking skills and a reflective approach to teaching.
4. Enhance students’ ability to create inclusive and diverse learning environments.
5. Prepare students to adapt to the evolving educational landscape and integrate technology into their teaching practices.

To be admitted for the programme, candidate must have 5 O’Level credit passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, GCE, or its equivalent that should include English and Mathematics;
i. Higher National Diploma (HND) in any filed from a recognized Polytechnic with a minimum of lower credit/merit.
ii. Holders of Bachelor, Master or PhD any field from a recognized University with a minimum of third class for the Bachelor.
iii. NYSC certificate (discharge, exemption or exclusion) for Nigerian candidates.

Iconic University charges modest fees that give learners the chance to pay per semester only. Nigerian candidates seeking admission will pay an application fee of N15,000 and $40 would be paid by international applicants.

Note: This schedule is only applicable to Spring Semester 2024/’25 academic session, and the university operate a non-refundable policy on application fee, registration fee and all other fees paid for products and services of the university.
